My own three ARTventurers LOVE designing the place name settings for our Christmas dinner table every year so we’ll definitely be making these on Christmas Eve!
Your little ARTventurers can put their own spin on them too – with Christmas stickers, glitter, metallic pens…a lovely activity to keep them busy whilst you’re wrapping or cooking.
A full “how to” is below, but it really couldn’t be easier!
You’ll need :
Candy Canes (cellophane wrapped) – 3 per place setting
Rectangle of stiff card
Glitter (or we used some sparkly face snow)
<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4456" src="https://i1.wp.com/www.artventurers.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/2016-11-22-11.51.16.jpg?resize=600%2C450&ssl=1" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" srcset="https://i1.wp.com/www.artventurers.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/2016-11-22-11.51.16 helpful resources.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 600x, https://i1.wp.com/www.artventurers.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/2016-11-22-11.51.16.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 300x” alt=”Candy Cane Place Setting” width=”600″ height=”450″ />
Use clear tape to bind the 3 candy canes together – you’ll need them to be at a slight angle to each other to create a solid base for standing. It’s easier to tape two together first then add the third rather than struggle to hold all 3 in place!
Use pens and glitter to decorate your rectangle of card and add the name
Slot the card into the candy cane stand and tie ribbons round to decorate
